According to a reputable Swedish reporter, Magnus Nygren has elected to leave the Hamilton Bulldogs and return to Sweden to play with his team there, Färjestad.

Nygren had been off to a solid start with the Bulldogs, putting up nearly 3 shots per game and a half point per game before going down with an undisclosed injury. He was playing top four minutes for Hamilton and on the top powerplay unit, but it seems that he may not have been happy with his situation.
It was rumoured when he came over that he was promised an audition with the big club, and although it never came, it was still early in the year, and his injury may have derailed those plans somewhat.
According to Färjestad’s club president, Nygren is leaving Hamilton tonight and will be there by 6am tomorrow.
This is the second prospect to leave the Bulldogs this week, which is not a great sign.
UPDATE: In the official press release from Färjestad, it is noted that Nygren is loaned to them for the remainder of the season. This means that Nygren should be back in North America next season.

MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have reassigned defenceman Magnus Nygren to Farjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League.
In 16 games with Hamilton this season, Nygren has recorded eight points (one goal, seven assists) and 14 penalty minutes. The 23-year-old defenceman spent the 2012-2013 season with Farjestad. In 51 regular season games, he recorded 32 points (13 goals, 19 assists) and 49 penalty minutes and received the Salming Trophy as the top defenceman in the Swedish Elite League. He was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the fourth round (113th overall) in the 2011 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
