The CWHL has released it’s schedule for it’s 10th season and on top of knowing who will play where, the league also said that they will be holding Heritage games in all of the league’s five cities.
The heritage games will be games honouring team alumni and those who have contributed to the growth of their team and the league over the past 10 years. Montreal’s Heritage Game will be December 10 against Calgary.
"10 years is a significant achievement for any sporting league and the CWHL is thrilled to celebrate this milestone with fans, players, and partners throughout the 2016-17 season." CWHL commissioner Brenda Andress said in a press release.
"Not only will we have a chance to look back at the amazing stories and moments that make up the CWHL’s history so far and reflect on this incredible journey, but we will have the chance to look forward as we pave the way for the future of the women’s game and the CWHL."
Les Canadiennes will open their season on the road against the Brampton Thunder on October 15-16. They will open their season at home on October 22-23 against the Toronto Furies.
The defending Clarkson Cup champion Calgary Inferno will also be making two trips to Montreal this season (as opposed to the reverse last year). The first Clarkson Cup final rematch will be the weekend of December 10 in Montreal.
Times and arenas for the games have not yet been announced. The entire CWHL schedule can be found here.
