While the Montreal Canadiens enjoy an extended break a quarter of the way through the NHL season, the AHL affiliate of the Laval Rocket continues its incredible start at home at Place Bell. Laval leads the AHL with an .857 points percentage through 14 games, sporting a 12-2-0 record. The team today leapt to the top of the league’s power rankings, thanks to winning 11 of its past 12 games, and currently on a four-game winning streak.

Rafaël Harvey-Pinard has joined the club tonight on a conditioning loan from the Canadiens. This will be his first game of 2024-25 after sustaining a leg injury in the summer. He’s sure to be a bit rusty, but there’s a very good supporting cast to help ease him into the action.

Joshua Roy leads the team with 13 points in 14 games, but Logan Mailloux is the team’s top scorer in terms of points per game, with 12 in nine games played. Owen Beck is in the same vicinity with 11, Jared Davidson has had quite an impressive start with six goals, and Adam Engström has carried his great pre-season performance into the North American pro game with seven points and a +4 rating.

Laval is hosting the Rochester Americans tonight, a division rival that is trying to get back in a tight playoff chase. They will provide a good test for Laval push for a 13th win on the season.
