Laval Rocket unveil logo and uniforms for 2017-18 season

The Montreal Canadiens unveiled the uniforms and logo for their American Hockey League affiliate the Laval Rocket today at a mall in Laval.

The uniforms use the traditional blue, blanc, rouge of the Canadiens.

Canadiens owner Geoff Molson was at the announcement along with general manager Marc Bergevin, Place Bell president Vincent Lucier, along with Canadiens alumni.

The Rocket will start play in the 2017-18 season, as Place Bell should be completed by that date. The name was the result of a fan vote, and honors Canadiens legend Maurice Richard.

There was a QMJHL team named the Montreal Rocket from 1999-2003 who played at the Maurice Richard arena before moving to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. They are now called the Islanders.

Of course, with a new franchise comes the inevitable season ticket sales drive, and fortunately the prices seem reasonable.
