Agent Darren Ferris and the Montreal Canadiens will work together in finding a trade partner.
Valji, who previewed the Flames on Habsent Minded before the season, says that the Canadiens and agent Darren Ferris are working together in finding a trade partner.
The news comes after Mete sat for his seventh straight game as the Canadiens defence has been effective and healthy early in the season.
It comes the same night as it was reported that Calgary Flames forward Sam Bennett — also represented by Ferris — also requested a trade.
With quarantine restrictions on any trade, it will be interesting to see how the team decides to go forward with this request. The team would need to tread lightly as an injury to any defenceman will undoubtedly see the team miss Mete.
The Canadiens also have Cale Fleury on the team’s taxi squad. Mete played with Xavier Ouellet in last year’s playoffs.
UPDATE: Marc Bergevin denies the request was made.
