Montreal Canadiens lines at practice, July 25: Brett Kulak back in the top four

A more familiar defensive alignment and solidified lines and special-teams units were seen for the final pre-bubble practice.

In their final practice in Brossard before travelling to the Toronto hub, the Montreal Canadiens were once more working on power-play drills and line rushes. It seems Claude Julien has largely settled on his forward combinations, with familiar trios working together.

On defence, after the team used a second pairing of Victor Mete and Jeff Petry in previous days, Brett Kulak, who missed much of camp after testing positive for the coronavirus, was back beside Petry, reprising the role in the top four he held to end the season.

The power-play units also remain the same from earlier runs. It seems likely these will be the fivesomes sent out in the qualifiers, or at least in Tuesday’s exhibition match with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
