Tonight it was announced that Karl Alzner will not be joining the Montreal Canadiens in Phase 3, and will not be on the roster for the qualifiiers, or Stanley Cup Playoffs should the Habs advance that far.
The Montreal Canadiens have announced that defenseman Karl Alzner has informed the organization that he has made the decision to opt out of Phase 3 and 4 of the NHL's Return to Play Plan.

Alzner had played just four games with the NHL club in 2019-20, spending the rest of the time as an alternate captain in the AHL with the Laval Rocket. He had no points with the Habs, but 13 in 53 games with the minor-league affiliate.
With Alzner’s status confirmed, that leaves just Max Domi and Brett Kulak as players yet to arrive at the Habs’ practice facility. The list of participants in Brossard currently includes 25 skaters and four goaltenders. That expanded roster is being constantly updated on our Organizational Depth Chart page.
