It was reported today that NHL general managers have been informed of details surrounding the NHL’s resumption. The current date for the start of the play-in rounds is July 30.
From NHL GM's meeting, Post has learned that training camp is set for two weeks, with teams traveling to respective hub city on July 23 or 24 before playing one exhibition game. Teams would have two weeks at their own training camps, where testing will be done to ensure no one is carrying the virus. All players from the 24 participating teams will head to their respective hub city one week before the playoff rounds begin, and have just a single exhibition game to prepare for the qualification round.
Players still don’t know where those hub cities will be, but the most recent report suggests it may be two Canadian cities given the final go-ahead given the rate of infections in the US. Toronto was rumoured to be joining Las Vegas as the two hosts, but it’s possible one of Edmonton or Vanocuver will replace the American city in the final announcement.
