The Montreal Canadiens have recalled goaltender Cayden Primeau from the Laval Rocket on an emergency basis, as Carey Price has flu-like symptoms.

Price did not make the trip to New Jersey, meaning that Charlie Lindgren and Primeau will be the team’s two goaltenders against the Devils on Tuesday night.
This may have a trickle down effect to the Laval Rocket, who have a home game on Wednesday. If Price is not ready to go, they may need to recall Michael McNiven or Connor Lacouvee from the ECHL. Otherwise, they can send Primeau down for Wednesday and recall him if necessary.
It is Primeau’s second stint in the NHL. The goaltender has a 12-7-2 record with the Rocket with a 2.70 goals against average and .899 save percentage. He is 1-1 in the NHL with a 2.52 GAA and .931 save percentage.
The Canadiens cancelled practice on Monday because of a flu bug going around the team.
UPDATE: The Laval Rocket have recalled Michael McNiven in a corresponding move.
