The Montreal Canadiens cut four players from training camp

Claude Julien mentioned the final roster would take shape after Monday’s win over Toronto, today that started to come to fruition

Following Monday’s 5-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs, head coach Claude Julien mentioned that the Canadiens would trim their roster in the coming days to get it close to its final form for the start of the regular season.

Today they trimmed the remaining preseason roster by four players, reducing the number still with the team to 39.

Among the cuts is Joel Ward. While he had some flashes, he was not to carve out a role in the Canadiens lineup this year. Nick Suzuki was also returned to the Owen Sound Attack.

None of the players have to pass through waivers.
