New, comments

It means the team will once again start the season on the road

Montreal Canadiens home opener will be on Thursday, October 11 facing off against the Los Angeles Kings.

Last year’s home game versus the Los Angeles Kings finished with a 4-0 loss after goals from Adrian Kempe, Anže Kopitar, Kurtis MacDermid and Tyler Toffoli.

The Canadiens will have the chance to improve from that result. Both previous home openers against the Kings has been won by Montreal.

Montreal will start their season on October 3 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

This means that the team will start the season on the road. The first 10 days of October are filled with concerts at the Bell Centre including Elton John, J. Cole, Ben Howard, and Gorillaz. There is also a Game of Thrones concert on October 12.

Last year’s home opener was October 10 against the Chicago Blackhawks in the season’s fourth game.

The full regular season schedule will be released tomorrow.
