The Canadiens have returned their AHL starter to Laval on Saturday night.

Following the Montreal Canadiens’ 4-3 shootout victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Canadiens returned goaltender Charlie Lindgren to the Laval Rocket of the American Hockey League.

Lindgren was recalled on an emergency basis when Carey Price was forced to miss Saturday’s game with a bout of the flu. While he didn’t start, Lindgren backed up Antti Niemi in Saturday’s win over the Penguins.

Lindgren’s return to the AHL more than likely means Price will be good to go by the Canadiens next game. They’ll be back in action Monday against the Detroit Red Wings.
