Canadiens lineup vs Maple Leafs: Big guns up front

The Habs top three lines are taking to the ice tonight in Toronto

The Montreal Canadiens have made some cuts at training camp and their pre-season lineups are starting to look like it.

This isn’t a regular season lineup, but it could be one. The expected top three lines will take part in this game, including, we expect the new-look top-six with Brendan Gallagher and Ales Hemsky switching spots.

The fourth line continues to switch around as Claude Julien wants to get a good look at all of the candidates, most of which will need waivers to be sent down.

Victor Mete will get a second look with Shea Weber, as he tries to make the team out of camp unexpectedly.

Karl Alzner and Jeff Petry will be the second pairing, and the third will be Jordie Benn - back on the right side - with Brandon Davidson.

This could very well be the Habs Opening Night lineup on D, but I think that Jakub Jerabek would probably slot in ahead of Davidson.

Charlie Lindgren and Al Montoya will be the goaltenders, and I expect that Lindgren will get the start in this one after Montoya played the last game in Ottawa.
