In 29 games with the Rocket this season, Lernout has a goal and three assists, and a -9 rating. His first goal came last Wednesday night after getting a breakaway out of the penalty box.

Lernout didn’t have the best game on Saturday against Edmonton, and will travel with the team to Carolina. He played 14:43, the lowest of any Habs defenceman. It remains to be seen whether he will stay in the lineup or be replaced by Jakub Jerabek.
This obviously means that Shea Weber’s injury is not recovering to the point where he could return to the active roster.
UPDATE: Lernout’s recall was necessary because David Schlemko is out with the flu and did not travel with the team to Carolina.
