Upon the completion of the game against the Edmonton Oilers, the Montreal Canadiens reassigned Brett Lernout to the AHL’s Laval Rocket.

Lernout had dressed for his first game of the season, but had a difficult time in the defensive zone versus the Oilers forwards, finishing as a -1 on the night.
He returns to a Laval team struggling in its own right, having lost both games it played this weekend. He’s been playing top-pairing minutes in recent times, and hopefully can continue to develop in the minor league.
