In 29 games with the Rocket this season, Lernout has a goal and three assists, and a -9 rating. His first goal came tonight after getting a breakaway out of the penalty box.

This isn’t Lernout’s first recall to the NHL, and in his prior three games he recorded zero points for the Canadiens. This likely opens a roster spot in the AHL for the out-of-favour Simon Bourque, who has only played 11 total games this year, while veterans like Eric Gelinas are preferred by Sylvain Lefebvre.
