Claude Julien looks for a spark and a key piece is out

The Montreal Canadiens practiced in Vancouver this afternoon, and Claude Julien shook up his lines.

The big news is that Max Pacioretty is back with Jonathan Drouin, while Alex Galchenyuk goes with Phillip Danault and Andrew Shaw. Paul Byron goes to the right of Pacioretty and Drouin.

The shake up happened after the Canadiens lost yet another game in Ottawa at the NHL100 Classic and couldn’t muster much offensively.

The team has struggled to score goals lately as they go on their lengthy holiday road trip.

On defence, it appears that the team will give an update on the status of defenceman Shea Weber after practice which isn’t normally a good sign.

He has been dealing with nagging lower body injuries for most of the season. If he is unable to go, Joe Morrow will likely take his place. He has been swapping in and out of the lineup with Jakub Jerabek.

The Canadiens take on the Canucks tomorrow night. Carey Price should be expected to start in his home province.

UPDATE: Shea Weber has been sent back to Montreal.
