Montreal Canadiens defenceman Victor Mete has been named to Team Canada's 2018 World Junior Hockey Championship roster following the four-day selection camp in St. Catharines, Ontario.

Hockey Canada unveiled its final roster of 22 players who will participate at this year's World Juniors in Buffalo. Mete was loaned to Team Canada prior to the team's selection camp and was considered a lock to make the club.

In 27 games with the Canadiens before being loaned, Mete had four assists.

The Canadiens will also have at least one other representative, as 2017 first-round pick Ryan Poehling was recently named to Team USA's final roster.

The tournament begins on December 26, with Team Canada squaring off against Finland.
