The move likely signifies that he’s ready to begin getting back into game shape after recovering from knee surgery at the end of October.
He earned the call-up after a great start to the season with Laval, and was just starting to get comfortable with the NHL game at the time of his injury. Though he didn’t have any points in his two NHL games played, he was showing his playmaking skills, and hopefully he can recovery fully and get back to that level soon.
