Montreal Canadiens captain Max Pacioretty had to be helped off the ice during the team’s morning skate after taking a slap shot off of his right leg courtesy of Shea Weber who is renowned for his shots from the point.
With plenty of hype surrounding the game on Tuesday night, this will just add to the pressure and mixed emotions that Weber must be feeling headed into his first game against his former team.
Should Pacioretty have sustained an injury it would have come at a really unfortunate time as he finally started picking up his goal-scoring pace after a difficult start to the season playing with a fracture in his foot.
The Montreal Canadiens are dealing with a rash of injuries currently, with forwards David Desharnais, Andrew Shaw, and Alex Galchenyuk injured, as well a defencemen Andrei Markov and Greg Pateryn.
The help overcome these injuries the Canadiens had previously called up Ryan Johnston, Michael McCarron, and Bobby Farnham from the AHL St. John’s IceCaps.
Currently there is no word on whether this will impact Pacioretty’s availability for the game against the Predators.
