Al Montoya to start Wednesday, plus lines at practice

Carey Price and Al Montoya will split the back-to-back games this week

Not much changed at practice today, but the Montreal Canadiens did announce that Al Montoya will get the start on Wednesday night when the Canadiens play the New York Islanders at Barclays Center.

This move isn’t a surprise, and it means that Carey Price will start on Thursday at home against the Tampa Bay Lightning in a battle at the top of the Atlantic Division.

There were no other changes for the Habs at practice today, as they had a quick skate before travelling to New York.

The forwards stay the same, which means that Daniel Carr seems to be the odd man out once again. The success of the bottom six seems to be the reason behind that.

The defence also doesn’t have any changes, which means the team continues to pick Mikhail Sergachev’s spots carefully.

It also means that Shea Weber and Alexei Emelin will continue together, and Michel Therrien once again reiterated that the move was a promotion for Emelin rather than a demotion for Nathan Beaulieu.
