As per usual, the Canadiens will be rocking a brand new forward configuration this evening, against the Hurricanes. Here's how the forwards lined up during practice:
Max Pacioretty | Tomas Plekanec | Brendan Gallagher |
Alex Galchenyuk | David Desharnais | P-A Parenteau |
Jacob de la Rose | Lars Eller | Devante Smith-Pelly |
Brandon Prust | Manny Malhotra | Dale Weise |
David Desharnais is off the top line, and Dale Weise is relegated to the fourth. Don't look now, but it seems as if we're starting to see some smart choices when it comes to the forward setup.
Andrei Markov | P.K. Subban |
Nathan Beaulieu | Tom Gilbert |
Alexei Emelin | Greg Pateryn |
You probably noticed that Jeff Petry is missing, and that's because he currently has the flu. Sergei Gonchar and Mike Weaver will be healthy scratches tonight. As expected, Carey Price will get the start versus the Hurricanes.
There's no guarantee these lines will last tonight, however it's encouraging to see some logical choices being made by the coach.
A stick tap goes out to John Lu, for the always excellent coverage he provides when it comes to the Habs.
