After the Montreal Canadiens sent Sven Andrighetto to the AHL this morning, it seems very likely that Brendan Gallagher will return to the lineup for New Year's Day's Winter Classic versus the Boston Bruins after missing six weeks with two broken fingers.

This is great news for the Canadiens who have struggled greatly without Gallagher in recent weeks. While all those struggles cannot be traced back to one player, getting a player of Gallagher's calibre back is a great thing for the Habs.

With Gallagher's return, the Canadiens get a player who was on a full-season 30-goal pace back into the lineup. They also get a player that they know will do whatever it takes to score goals, something that the team needs to help them work out of their offensive funk.
The Winter Classic is currently scheduled to start at 1:00 PM EST / 10:00 AM PST tomorrow, though that may change depending on the weather conditions.
