Per Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports, the Montreal Canadiens have extended JJ Daigneault, Clement Jodoin, Dan Lacroix, and Stephane Waite for the next three seasons, a move that gives each coach salary security going forward.
Terms of the extensions are obviously not being disclosed, and considering the job security of assistant coaches in general, this is really just a financial reward for these guys who have been here for a lot of success lately.
Stephane Waite in particular has been given a lot of credit for the earth-shattering numbers Carey Price has put up since he was hired.
It's a little confusing in terms of timing for the other assistants, especially with how much the powerplay has struggled this season, and the Canadiens' generally confusing usage in all situations, but as previously stated, assistant coach extensions really have no impact on what an organization can do going forward.
