Canadiens player ratings in NHL 15

How did the crew at EA Sports rate the Habs?

Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

With all the demos being done to boost the coverage of the release of NHL15, the player ratings for the Habs have finally leaked, and they are weird. Like really weird.

Left Wing
Center
Right Wing
Max Pacioretty (88) David Desharnais (83) P.A. Parenteau (85)
Alex Galchenyuk (84) Tomas Plekanec (85) Brendan Gallagher (84)
Travis Moen (80) Lars Eller (84) Rene Bourque (83)
Brandon Prust (82) Manny Malhotra (79) Dale Weise (80)
Left Defense
Right Defense
Andrei Markov (86) P.K. Subban (90)
Alexei Emelin (83) Mike Weaver (80)
Nathan Beaulieu (76) Tom Gilbert (82)
Goaltenders
Carey Price (92)
Peter Budaj (81)

Scratches: Michael Bournival (80), Jarred Tinordi (81).

The ratings for the bottom of the lineup are absurdly high. Complaining about player ratings is a bit ridiculous since you can edit them anyway (unless that's another feature EA Sports has omitted from this entry of the series), but you have to wonder how strong the dope the developers of this game were smoking.

Brandon Prust a mere two points overall worse than a 30 goal threat in Brendan Gallagher? Desharnais rated just 83 when Tyler Bozak was rated 87? BOZAK RATED 87?!?!?!

The developers of NHL games are so afraid of offending anyone by giving a player a poor rating that they instead make a bunch of bad players look good, and in order to play the game with any hint of realism, you have to spend hours going through and editing players. It's a bit of a chore, to be honest, and games are supposed to be fun.
