With the recent injury to Max Pacioretty, and the demotion of Eric Tangradi to the AHL, the Canadiens have announced that they're have called up talented winger Sven Andrighetto from the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Andrighetto, 21, impressed during his recent spell with the Canadiens, producing two goals and adding an assist in four games. Despite finding instant chemistry alongside Jiri Sekac and Tomas Plekanec, he had been recently returned to the Bulldogs following his superb debut with the Habs.
It's unclear where Andrighetto will fit in the lineup, although it's likely that he's reunited with his former linemates, which would return Brandon Prust to the fourth line.
If Max Pacioretty misses any action, we could see Andrighetto placed on the top line, with fellow talented youngsters Alex Galchenyuk and Brendan Gallagher.
In 21 games with the Hamilton this season the Swiss forward has contributed 18 points, including 9 goals, good enough for first among all Bulldogs players. Andrighetto spoke about his first few NHL games before this most recent call up.
The Canadiens also called up Joey MacDonald to serve as backup with Dustin Tokarski on a conditioning stint.
