According to several sources now, Canadiens prospect Zachary Fucale will be traded by his junior team, the Halifax Mooseheads, to the Quebec Remparts, though it hasn't been finalized yet.
This means that Fucale should be competing in his second Memorial Cup tournament, since Quebec City is the host city this year. Fucale previously won the Memorial Cup as a 17 year old in 2013.
The trade comes at a tough time for Fucale, who will need to put it out of his mind in order to continue battling for the starting goaltender spot on Team Canada heading into the World Junior Hockey Championships in Montreal. Fucale is currently in a dog fight with Eric Comrie for the starting gig, though he should have the edge there since he ended last year's tournament as the starter.
Fucale has had a rough season statistically behind a porous Halifax defense, so eyes will be on him going forward to see if he improves with a better team in front of him.
