It should come as no surprise, but after an interesting day that saw Drayson Bowman released from his professional tryout, and subsequently signed to a two-year contract, he was placed on waivers by the Canadiens.
As expected, Habs put Drayson Bowman on waivers— Pierre LeBrun (@Real_ESPNLeBrun) October 3, 2014
If he clears waivers, which he probably should, Bowman will head to the Hamilton Bulldogs, where he will be counted on to provide energy and skill. The Bulldogs struggled to score last year, the addition of Bowman should help.
Bowman impressed Habs brass during the training camp, however with the gluttony of depth forwards already on the roster, he'll have to fight his way out of the AHL if he hopes to renew his career in the NHL.
Bowman played 70 games in the NHL last year with the Carolina Hurricanes, where he produced 4 goals and eight assists.
