Lane Hutson, Sean Farrell, Luke Tuch to play for Team USA at World Championships

The Montreal Canadiens, as one of the teams no longer in the NHL playoffs, are sure to be represented at the upcoming IIHF Men’s World Championships, but perhaps the teams on Team USA’s roster are a bit surprising.

Sean Farrell, who joined the Canadiens after his NCAA season ended, will take part in his second tournament. He will be joined by Canadiens prospects Lane Hutson and Luke Tuch, who both play at Boston University

Team USA is obviously going very young with their roster and a number of players who played in the NCAA last season. One player who was in the NHL is Luke’s brother Alex, who plays for the Buffalo Sabres.

This will be a good opportunity for the Canadiens and their fans to see what Hutson and Tuch can do against professional players. The Canadiens have to make a decision on both players, although they have more time to make that call on Hutson, who had one of the best seasons for a first-year player in NCAA history.

The Canadiens have Tuch’s rights until August 2024 and Hutson’s until August 2026.
