Canadiens assign Joshua Roy to the Laval Rocket

Laval will be getting some reinforcements as they head towards the playoffs looking strong.

The morning after clinching a playoff spot for the first time in four years, the Montreal Canadiens are starting to make their playoff roster a little more clear. They have returned Joshua Roy to the Laval Rocket so that he can help the farm team with their own playoff run.

This is a far from surprising move, as the additions of Oliver Kapanen and Ivan Demidov to the Habs’ forward group meant it would take some unfortunate events for Roy to find a spot in the lineup. He will instead join a Rocket team that could use some extra punch up front, as they’re heading into the AHL playoffs as one of the frontrunners in the league.

Roy has put up two goals through 12 games of action in the NHL this season, and 35 points (20G, 15A) through 46 games on the farm. He will no doubt be in line for some big minutes with the Rocket now that he’s back with them.
