After much back and forth in the Habs Twittersphere, the Montreal Canadiens have announced that they have signed top goaltending prospect Jacob Fowler, to an entry-level contract that begins at the start of the 2025-2026 season.

While Boston College fell short of their Frozen Four dreams, Fowler put forth another incredible season for the Eagles. In 35 games, Fowler posted a 25-7-2 record with .940 save percentage, 1.63 goals against average and seven shutouts on the season. He also collected a trophy cabinet that would the envy of almost any prospect including a World Juniors gold medal, Hockey East title, NCAA First Team and Hockey East First Team all-star awards as well.

Fowler also signed a one-year, one-way contract with the Laval Rocket for the rest of the season, will join the team when they return from their trip out west next week, and will likely split time with Cayden Primeau down the stretch.

His first practice with the team will be April 9.

He was the team’s third-round pick (69th overall) in the 2023 NHL Draft.
