IN PHOTOS: Montreal Victoire Walter Cup parade

Over 20,000 people crowded downtown Montreal and the Quarter des Spectacles as the Montreal Victoire celebrated their first Walter Cup championship in style.

Today we have a gallery of photos from the event. All photos are by Sheila P.

The photos provide a glimpse of the atmosphere that is hard to put into words. Players were obviously enjoying themselves, but there are also moments where they are clearly trying to soak it all in. If you’re wondering why defender Amanda Boulier had a tuba, well, the answer is she lost a bet. All season, Laura Stacey and Boulier had a running bet on which players the cameras would focus on in the pre-game locker room shots. Stacey won the last round, and by extension, the season-long bet.

The result was Boulier needing to do a solo with an instrument of the team’s choosing on top of Mount Royal. Winning the championship meant that she also got to bring it to the celebration. (For reference: Boulier won last year’s bet and as a result, Stacey – a Dartmouth alum – had to re-take the SAT).

It was a truly remarkable day, and we hope you enjoy the photos.
