Historic failure: The Canadiens are on one of the worst losing streaks in their existence

The Montreal Canadiens lost to the Anaheim Ducks on Friday night, prolonging their misery to seven consecutive losses. This is the first seven-game losing streak for the franchise since the 1939-40 season, when they lost to the New York Americans on January 1st 1940 by a score of 1-0. This is only the fourth seven-game losing streak in franchise history.

This is quite the unfortunate statistic for the team to achieve.

In addition, the team has earned only three points in their first eight games. This is tied for the second worst start to the season in franchise history.

Comparing the dates, it becomes obvious that this team is arguably on the worst stretch in modern franchise history.
