Moments after the Montreal Canadiens took a 2-1 lead off a power play goal, Brendan Gallagher scored his 26th of the season with a power-play marker of his own.
The Canadiens scored twice on the same man-advantage, a four-minute minor to Dan Hamhuis for a high-stick. Marc Methot was also injured on the play, leaving the Stars to just three players on ice and more room to roam for Gallagher and the Canadiens.
