Jeff Petry scores his first career playoff goal

The Habs have scored first for just the second time in the playoffs.

Jean-Yves Ahern-USA TODAY Sports

For the first time in his career, Jeff Petry has scored a playoff goal, and it gave the Montreal Canadiens the lead for the first time in their series against the Tampa Bay Lightning, and saw the Canadiens scoring first for just the second time in eight playoff games.

Petry absolutely sniped it from the point to beat Ben Bishop, capitalizing on some early dominance in the offensive zone by Montreal. Torrey Mitchell drew the only assist on the play, putting him at four points in the playoffs, second on the Canadiens behind P.K. Subban.
