Hamilton call-ups, Oiler injuries and it’s Half-past Hammer time (and other links)

With news from the Canadiens confirming the severity of Brandon Prust’s injury and that he’ll be out for four weeks, and knowing Daniel Briere also will be gone due to the unpunished concussion he suffered last Saturday in the game against the Nashville Predators, going into tonight’s meeting with the Edmonton Oilers, we know they’ll be down a couple of men as well with Taylor Hall and Ryan Smyth returning to Edmonton for a look-see by doctors. As of this writing, Jordan Eberle may also be missing out with an undisclosed ailment.

On our side, we know that Bulldogs Patrick Holland, Mike Blunden and Nathan Beaulieu have made the bus trip from Hamilton to join the Habs and fill in the ever-increasing hole in the lineup.

Former Hab Roman Hamrlik will officially be hanging up his skates after a 20-season career in the NHL, and Dave Stubbs from the Montreal Gazette wrote about it in yesterday’s paper.
