Nathan Beaulieu has been on a tear lately. In the month of December, he has 1g, 6a which leads all Bulldogs in scoring. The Canadiens 2011 1st rounder scored his first professional goal on Thursday night against the Chicago Wolves. Beaulieu jumped on a rebound in the slot and fired it into the net late in the game to bring the Bulldogs to within 1 goal with under a minute left to play. The Bulldogs could not complete the comeback however.
This is Nathan Beaulieu's second straight POTW honours, which is a testament to his solid play over the last month. He has stepped up to help provide offense when the Bulldogs needed it most, with Aaron Palushaj missing time due to an injury suffered on Tuesday against Lake Erie.
Beaulieu is still adjusting to the pro game however. He was a -1 on the week, and was on the ice for the game winner (against) on Sunday night, and was later ejected from the game on a bad 10 minute misconduct call on the part of the referee. Part of Nathan's struggles is bad matchups, as Sylvain Lefebvre struggles to match forward lines, often having Zack Stortini, Kyle Hagel, and Gabriel Dumont on the ice against the oppositions scoring lines.
The Bulldogs continue their road trip with 3 games this week, visiting Peoria, St John's, and San Antonio. The Bulldogs will be racking up the frequent flyer miles just before Christmas, it seems. The Bulldogs take on the Peoria Rivermen Tuesday night at 8PM eastern. You can follow that game in our game thread.
