The Swedish tandem discusses all things Montreal Canadiens, which unfortunately is not a very merry thing to do the day after an anemic offensive performance against Darryl Sutter’s trap-playing Calgary Flames.
Is there an idea behind the offence, beside trying to shoot the puck into the opponent’s zone, hold up against the boards and hope for the best? Has Montreal’s season been hampered by the fact that Marc Bergevin didn’t commit to Dominique Ducharme more than as an interim head coach? Could we expect more from the older, more experienced players when it comes to leadership and bringing the group together during a difficult part of a difficult season?
With just 11 games to go in the regular season, the power play is nonexistent and the lack of creativity is apparent. Cole Caufield is presently sitting on the taxi squad, but bringing him up to the team would stop additional roster moves following future eventualities. Is it still worth it to gamble on Caufield as a sprinkle of fairy dust to solve a few offensive woes?
Similarly, Cayden Primeau has been the gatekeeper for Jake Allen during Carey Price’s injury spells. Allen has been forced into a role he wasn’t intended for when signed and could surely use a night off. Is it time for Primeau to get another game in the big league?
We apologize in advance for some technical difficulties. There is apparently not a strong enough internet connection between the Swedish metropolises of Kungsbacka and Undersåker. Next week, we hope to have solved this as Anton returns down south to the civilized world.
