Last season ended on a sour note for the Toronto Maple Leafs as the team lost to the Montreal Canadiens in the first round of the playoffs.
The offseason has brought about some changes, most noticeably on the defence. There are two young Swedish defenders that are pushing for bigger roles, Rasmus Sandin and Timothy Liljegren, can they make the push?
There is also the question if Jack Campbell can keep up the level he performed at last season, will there be a slump or will he carry the team deep into a playoff run? He will have some support as the team replaced Frederik Andersen with Petr Mrazek this off-season.
They will not be alone as the big four will be united again, as John Tavares returns from his terrible injury suffered in the series against the Canadiens. Auston Matthews not be ready to start the season after wrist surgery in the offseason, while Mitch Marner and William Nylander will they be able to get the team going right off the start.
