The Montreal Canadiens are back to the NHL Playoffs. We now know they will be facing the Philadelphia Flyers in the first round. The series gets underway on Wednesday.
Jared Book and Patrik Bexell discuss the win against Pittsburgh and look forward to the series against the Flyers.
Claude Julien found the way to beat the Penguins with matchups, and that task gets harder with the Flyers. They won all three games in the Round Robin and Julien called the Flyers the best team he has seen in Toronto.
However, the Flyers do have question marks. They haven’t won a playoff series since 2011-12, and are in uncharted waters as the top seed in the Eastern Conference. The Round Robin games were a touch below the Qualifiers in terms on intensity so can the Canadiens take advantage of that?
Make no mistake the Flyers are the favourite, but as the Canadiens showed against the Penguins, the series doesn’t end there.
