Kevin Raphael is the host of the Sans Restriction podcast, he’s a WWE commentator for TVA Sports, and is the executive producer of the women’s hockey documentary Gap Year. He joins Jared Book in the latest episode of Habsent Minded.
Kevin is also one of the biggest hockey fans, and may be the most high profile supporter of women’s hockey in Montreal.
They start off discussing the NHL’s Draft Lottery which made Kevin think of the WWE, and both Jared and Kevin just feel bad for Alexis Lafreniere, who Raphael has been told by NHL players is already better than most of them.
They then discuss Kevin becoming a women’s hockey fan, and some of the challenges the game faces but also what makes it great. He also discusses his documentary Gap Year, which has some episodes on Youtube and he is working on a feature length version as well.
That transitions into a discussion about the Montreal Canadiens and the lack of success the most recent generation of fans have witnessed.
Last, they discuss Kevin’s Sans Restriction podcast where he gets athletes to open up, and has episodes in both French and English.
The episode should be available on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and Spotify if you subscribe to it there.
