Habs send Enqvist back and show their skills

The Montreal Canadiens sent forward Andreas Engqvist back to the Hamilton Bulldogs, after a two-game stint. The full press release can be read here.

The move means Jeff Halpern is ready to return to action Tuesday against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Halpern joined the rest of the Canadiens at their annual Skills Competition at the Bell Centre this afternoon.

Benoit Pouliot registered the hardest shot, at 102 MPH. Captain Brian Gionta nailed all four targets in 11.1 seconds, edging out Andre Kostitsyn by a half a second, to claim the shooting accuracy title.

Max Pacioretty must have enjoyed this feature on Canadiens.com, and wound up winning the fastest skater event.

The program ended with a spirited four-on-four intra-squad game that I never bothered to keep score of, although someone noted a goaltending controversy as Carey Price was “shelled” for six goals.

The game had it’s lighter moments, with the occasional stick toss on a breakaway, but I did spot Kostitsyn and P.K. Subban exchange a few words and shoves toward the end of the game.
