In the second night of World Juniors action, Team Canada put on a clinic against Slovakia, earning a 5-0 win. Slovakia managed merely six shots on Canada’s net through the entire game. Montreal Canadiens prospect Noah Juulsen, meanwhile, racked up five shots of his own during the same game. For the second straight night, Juulsen failed to amass any points, but being a key part of a defensive squad that so thoroughly dominated its opponent is impressive in its own right.

Russia’s junior squad was busy handling a clinic of its own, but more of the offensive flavour than Canada’s. Latvia was the victim of a 9-1 beating at the hands of the Russians.
Mikhail Sergachev had a quiet game, adding no points to his goal in the opening game, taking one minor penalty and firing two shots on net.
Day two didn’t see any points for Habs’ prospects, and both played a slightly reduced role. Canada and Russia were both playing weaker opponents on Tuesday, and this allowed coaches on both sides to even out the ice time.
Neither Juulsen or Sergachev will play Wednesday, but both will see action on Thursday, when Russia takes on the USA and Canada faces Latvia.
