Hab An Ice Day – December 28, 2008

In last Sunday’s Hab An Ice Day, I made reference to hellish week I had just endured, but it has been a better one since.

I also did myself and you readers a service. A Habs Inside Out post by Dave Stubbs served as a handy reminder to me that I had long wanted to subscribe to the Society for International Hockey Research (SIHR), which is a site quite encyclopedic in it’s scope of all things hockey. With a little extra cash on hand from the holidays, I became a member within an hour of seeing the HIO post. Being a member will allow me access to much information over the coming year, that should translate into some very informative postings at this site.

On the current Canadiens scheme of things, few games have been played since last weekend, so there are not the usual amount of links. Here is the best of what I was able to scoop up.

The Globe and Mail has an intersting read on “Cool, Calm, Carey“.

The Montreal Gazette is looking for a 2009 All Star Game reporter. I want to win this! You can enter here.

The Gazette also takes a “Holiday Trip Down Memory Lane story
“, asking former Habs what their greatest Christmas memories were.

here,

Dennis Kane has his take on last night’s win over the Penguins, and an angle on who you should be cheering for from this point on.

Read an in depth analysis of how the “Habs Hold On For Two Points In Pittsburgh” from Lions In Winter.

Check out J.T.’s (Leigh Ann Power) “Carbonneau’s Christams Carol” and her “The H Does Not Stand For Habs” blog”.

From the New York Daily News “Montreal Canadiens Turn 100” offers an outsiders view of a historic season, with some Patrice Brisebois viewpoints.
