“Some adjustments will be made”: Geoff Molson talks about the state of the Habs

Geoff Molson was at an event to meet the King and Queen of Belgium today, and the owner of the Montreal Canadiens spoke to the media about the state of the franchise.

Notably, he said to expect some adjustments this summer.

But don’t expect one of those adjustments to be a new general manager.

However, that doesn’t mean that Molson is happy about the situation the team is in.

He also touched upon if the Canadiens need to get a franchise player.

All things considered, Molson did say some interesting things here. It means that although he looks to be bringing Marc Bergevin back for another season, it does not mean that the status quo is good enough.

Him mentioning coaching, scouting, and player development outright means that there could be changes in that department.

We know that the Canadiens have gotten a close look at the Laval Rocket lately, and you have to wonder whether that is to get a good handle of what is going on with the Canadiens AHL team.

After a year where there were no NHL or AHL coaching staff changes, except for the departure of Clement Jodoin, this summer may be a little different even if the person in charge remains the same.
