Game Thread: Habs Host Sabres

After getting barreled over by the Boston Bruins, in more ways than one, on Saturday, you have to think the Buffalo Sabres will take their frustrations out on the Canadiens tonight.

Buffalo took the first game of the regular season series 3-1, and snapping the Habs two-game win streak might make them feel better.

"I’m embarrassed that we didn’t respond the way we should have."—C Paul Gaustad, after Milan Lucic hit Ryan Miller and faced no retribution.

Ryan Miller is out indefinitely with a concussion, after being steamrolled by Milan Lucic Saturday. Jhonas Enroth is a capable backup for Buffalo and is 5-0-0 (1.75 GAA) this season. Enroth has faced the Canadiens once in his career, a 34-save performance in the Sabres 3-2 SO win on February 15.

In the meantime, the Sabres have called up Drew MacIntyre from the Rochester Americans. MacIntyre played last season with the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Sabres coach Lindy Ruff is not afraid to take a page from Scotty Bowman, and has Tyler Ennis listed as a healthy scratch

When on a winning streak, Jacques Martin will seldom make any line changes. But Mike Cammalleri is now a no-go per RDS, and Andrei Kostitsyn is not ready either. The Habs have allied up Andreas Engqvist from the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Hal Gill was not at the morning skate, due to illness, so expect Alexei Emelin in the lineup.
