Filip Mesar out 8-10 weeks with a lower-body injury

Some bad news was delivered by the Laval Rocket today, as they’ll be missing three separate forwards for varying amounts of time. Vincent Arseneau, Laurent Dauphin, and Brandon Gignac are all listed as day-to-day with various ailments

Filip Mesar, however, who has had a very strong start to his AHL season, will be on the shelf significantly longer, with a timetable of 8-10 weeks.

This will likely necessitate some call-ups from the Trois-Rivières Lions, as four forwards will be a bit much for them to do without, even if just for a few games. They already had to play their last game with 11 forwards due to Mesar being out, and though they’ll be getting Lucas Condotta back rather quickly, they’ll need some reinforcements to tide them over.

The Rocket are in action next this Wednesday night against the Utica Comets, so they’ll have to hope that at least one of their day-to-day forwards can recover before then.
