We were a little late getting to the podcast version this month, but myself and Patrik Bexell got together to discuss EOTP’s selections for the players of the month in the Montreal Canadiens system.

Starting at the top, we have Cole Caufield. While this easily could have gone to his linemate Nick Suzuki, or his goaltender Jakub Dobes, there was no denying the brilliance of Caufield in October. We feel that the mere fact Suzuki can be in the top five for NHL scoring and still have another player edge him out is a testament to just how good the team was in the first month of the season.

Elsewhere, Pat gives us some insight into the likes of Adam Engstrom and Alexander Zharovsky, the AHL and European players of the month, respectively. We round out the episode with some talk about Michael Hage, the North American prospect of the month, and how some of these yet-to-be NHLers might fit with the organization in the coming years.

All around, it is quite an exciting time to be a Habs fan. The team is doing extremely well, and they’ve still managed to keep a contingent of exciting prospects that haven’t yet cracked the NHL.

Click the play button below to listen to the full episode, and we’ll have much more content coming for you throughout the season, including tonight’s Bottom Six Minutes after the game.
