Charlie Lindgren’s new mask pays tribute to Canadiens goaltender greats

Charlie Lindgren has his received his new helmet for the 2016-17 campaign, and it pays tribute to some of the legendary goalkeepers in Canadiens history.

Georges Vezina, George Hainsworth, Jacques Plante, Ken Dryden, and Patrick Roy are among the featured goalkeepers on the dark blue helmet.

It is a nice design full of Canadiens history, and it sets the sights on Lindgren’s ultimate goal in the night.

There is also the original Canadiens logo on the back.

The mask is surely going to endear Lindgren among Habs fans. It seems that he may have moved ahead of Mike Condon on the team’s depth chart, but he’ll have a tough time pushing Al Montoya out of the picture to win the job as Carey Price’s backup.

In any case, it’s great to see a Habs player who clearly has a lot of respect for Canadiens history.
