The Three Stars

1. Magnus Nygren

With the regular season in the Swedish Hockey League concluding, Magnus Nygren continues to be one of the most potent sources of offence for Färjestad BK. Nygren would mark a 4-point game to guide his team to a 5-2 win over Örebro HK to begin his week, scoring a goal and three assists in the victory. He would go without a point versus Luleå HF as Färjestad would take a 3-1 victory in the game. He would finish the week scoring the game-winning shootout goal for Färjestad in a 3-2 defeat of Skellefteå AIK. Despite playing less than half the season in the SHL, Magnus Nygren finished 14th in defensive scoring in the league with all ahead of him playing at least 19 more games, he was 3rd in goals among league defencemen. Magnus Nygren was drafted in the 4th round, 113th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2011 NHL Draft.

2. Zach Fucale

As the season starts to wind down in the QMJHL, Zach Fucale continues to keep a steady hand in the crease of the Halifax Mooseheads. Fucale would make 30 saves in his his first start of the week as he minded the net while the Mooseheads wiped out the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in a 10-1 victory. He would make 21 saves in his next start, allowing 4 goals in a 7-4 victory for the Mooseheads over the Charlottetown Islanders. He would finish out the week making 12 saves in a 4-0 victory over the Saint John Sea Dogs, marking his 6th shutout of the season. Fucale currently leads the QMJHL in Goals Against Average at 2.25, is tied in the league lead in shutouts at 6 and is tied for 4th in save percentage at .909. Zach Fucale was drafted in the 2nd round, 36th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2013 NHL Draft.

3. Gabriel Dumont

While the Bulldogs continue to be mired in another offensively challenged season, Gabriel Dumont is doing his best to help out as he can. While he would fail to mark a point in his first game of the week, a 2-1 loss to the Oklahoma City Barons he would score a goal and assist in the next game, providing essentially all the game's offence versus the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 4-2 loss for Hamilton. Dumont would go without a point in the final game, a 4-1 loss to the Lake Erie Monsters. Gabriel Dumont was drafted in the 5th round, 139th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2009 NHL Draft.
